New Mexico State University set out to build a new two-story 45,000 square foot “Town and Gown” building on a 56,000 square foot existing parking lot at the southwest corner of Jordan Road and University Avenue in Las Cruces, New Mexico.

Approximately 35,000 square feet of the building is managed by Barnes & Noble College Booksellers and the remaining 10,000 square feet is comprised of retail and miscellaneous university offices.

BG provided MEP design, LEED commissioning services, and a LEED Design Appeal review, ultimately, surpassing the client’s expectations by attaining LEED Gold certification.
Our commissioning team worked as trusted advisors to ensure ease of maintenance in systems. Indoor environment quality provides a comfortable atmosphere for employees and patrons. Additionally, highly-functional and sustainable MEP systems help reduce operating costs.
