BG provided mechanical and electrical design, lighting design, technology systems design, plumbing, automation services as well as LEED Energy Modeling, LEED Fundamental and Enhanced Commissioning and construction contract services for the library.

The library features a state-of-the-art technology system including multiple computer stations, wireless internet, and smartboards. It also includes energy-efficient lighting and a complete lighting control system that takes advantage of the ample daylighting from the surrounding glazing and monitor. The building also includes a raised floor system for future flexibility. To accommodate this feature, BG designed the first under-floor air distribution system and a modular raised floor electrical system in the Colorado Rockies.

A systems rough-in has been installed to accommodate a substantial capacity, roof-mounted photovoltaic system. Progressive energy features include a 76kW roof-mounted photovoltaic array targeted to offset 100% of the building’s annual energy consumption. The library achieved LEED Silver certification.
