BG provided mechanical, electrical, and plumbing engineering, lighting design, and LEED championing services for this 12-story, high-rise, luxury hotel and condominium development in Deer Valley, Utah.
BG took a number of sustainable measures to meet LEED Silver certification. The team employed free cooling from cooling towers to reduce chiller usage, reduced commercial exhaust emissions, installed CO2 sensors to reduce outside air intake, reclaimed heat from boiler stacks for domestic hot water, and prepared the facility for the potential to preheat domestic hot water from cooling towers and chillers.
The exterior building skin is stone with Hardie board, batten, and shakes. The hotel consists of 173 guestrooms, a 35,000 SF spa and fitness center, a bowling alley and entertainment area, two restaurants, two ballrooms, and numerous retail, commercial and meeting spaces.
The upper six floors are dedicated to 81 condos and residences. There are two full-size swimming pools and a combination of indoor/outdoor spas. The event lawn extends from the first floor terrace with an expansive view of Empire Canyon and the Wasatch mountains.
