Silverthorne Town Pavilion
Civic / Government
The Town of Silverthorne needed a community facility/pavilion to house many different event types, including children’s plays, puppet shows, dinner and dance functions, theatrical performances, and musical productions including, but not limited to, bands, recitals, and string quartets. This new facility, which borders the Blue River, contains a 5,000 SF performance hall, a small catering kitchen, a gathering lobby and event space, as well as, attached retail centers to provide additional revenue for the town. The semi-open-air facility takes advantage of the mild midsummer nights in Colorado.
BG designed mechanical systems to provide heating and cooling that is integrated with the architecture and the facility to maximize space comfort and minimize noise impact on the performances. Electrical systems, including the theatrical lighting design, as well as the space lighting design, were designed to highlight the architecture in lobby areas.
Core and shell tenant design included the mechanical and electrical base systems.
Owners and occupants experience optimum space comfort throughout the facility including the ability to maintain comfort for daytime play performances and nighttime string quartets. Cost effective mechanical and electrical solutions met the owner’s budget expectations.
