BG provided mechanical and electrical engineering design and construction contract administration services for a prominent exhibition pavilion and restrooms facility in Aspen’s Wagner Park, in the heart of downtown.

The facility incorporates 38 semi-transparent Building Integrated Photovoltaic (BIPV) panels into the roof structure, a new approach in the United States. At peak performance, the system generates upwards of 3 kilowatts of power, an excess of the building’s operating requirements. The excess is supplied back to the utility grid and credited to the owner’s account.

The design also incorporated various other resource-efficient features, including, radiant floor heating via a super-high-efficiency gas boiler, waterless urinals, and ultrasonic sensors to monitor and limit interior lighting and exhaust fan usage.
